  2. Answer: Early mornings we throw top-water lures, like Zara Spooks, Sammys, or our favorite poppers. Later it's tossing spinner baits tight in the grass. When the sun comes full out, the guapote tend to go deep, so we cast rattle traps and crank baits near stumps. If nessasary we might troll deep, a very effective way to find the big ones lurking about. Rapalas have accounted for many large fish and lots of 15 plus fish caught in a half day tour.

  4. Answer: For the novice and weekend fisherman we use high-quality spinning rods and reels. For the sportsman we have Johnny Morris bait casters on extreme rods.

  8. Answer: Yes, in more than 7 years of guiding on Lake Arenal we have only cancelled a few trips do to severe weather, we may come in a little early if there is some lighting, but that typically is only in the month of December. A light rain jacket is all you will need.

  10. Answer : Yes, down about 12 to 18 feet deep. Some days can be very productive by trolling deep near our favorite points on the lake and near stumps, different times of the year this can be the most effective way to put some fish in the boat.
